Cold Storage Infrastructure
Commodity-specific cold rooms and preservation systems β engineered to international food-safety standards.
NovaChill is building Nigeria's National Cooling Network β a sovereign-backed, solar-hybrid cold-chain infrastructure platform modernising the country's agricultural value chain. Anchored by the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI) and Mystrose Agro Commodities Limited.
NovaChill is a Special Purpose Vehicle jointly promoted by the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI) and Mystrose Agro Commodities Limited. We exist to build the cold-chain backbone of Nigeria's agricultural value chain β and, in time, of West Africa.
Our model brings together infrastructure, technology, energy systems, agricultural logistics, food preservation, ESG-led development and commercial aggregation under one disciplined operating platform.
Controlled-atmosphere and forced-air cooling, solar-hybrid power, IoT monitoring and commodity-specific protocols across every hub.
From the Sokoto pilot through a 100,000 MT Phase I network β and a long-term 25-million-MT vision spanning all six geopolitical zones.
NOPPMAN, processors, retailers, exporters; MOFI, NSIA, BOI, NIRSAL and DFI partners for capital structuring and scale-up.
Infrastructure β not production β is the binding constraint on Nigerian agriculture. NovaChill is the strategic intervention designed to close that gap at national scale.
Six tightly-integrated capabilities β engineered to operate as a single national platform.
Commodity-specific cold rooms and preservation systems β engineered to international food-safety standards.
Structured produce aggregation and handling systems linking farms, cooperatives and processors.
Temperature-controlled transportation and last-mile distribution across our national hub network.
Sorting, grading, packaging, pre-cooling and export-preparation services that lift margin and shelf-life.
Renewable-powered cooling systems that reduce grid dependence and lock in long-term energy cost.
IoT monitoring, traceability and predictive analytics β the digital backbone of every hub.
Every NovaChill hub operates dedicated cold rooms tuned to the temperature, humidity and airflow profile each commodity needs to reach market at peak quality.
Crate & mesh-bag pallet storage with controlled humidity.
Multi-tier rack storage β Plateau hub specialisation.
Fruit, vegetables and high-value horticulture.
A phased hub-and-spoke rollout from the Sokoto anchor to all six geopolitical zones β and beyond.
Phase I delivers 100,000 MT across six commodity-specialised hubs. Phase III brings livestock and fisheries cold chains. Phase IV scales the model internationally via NovaChill International β building toward a long-term 25 million metric tonne national cold-chain platform.
Onion value chain anchor with NOPPMAN partnership Β· 18 cold rooms Β· solar-hybrid via PPA.
Plateau Β· Ogun Β· Anambra/Enugu Β· Rivers (ULT) Β· Kano β commodity-specialised across six zones.
Value-added services, processing, trading, export aggregation β and NovaChill International, extending the model to regional and overseas markets.
A 2,500-metric-tonne dedicated cold-storage facility for onions and potatoes, sited at the heart of Nigeria's largest onion-producing belt. Six loading bays, 18 commodity-specific cold rooms, solar-hybrid power and a NOPPMAN partnership at the off-take side.
The Sokoto Pilot is the foundation for delivering 25 million metric tonnes of cold storage across the six geopolitical zones β with Phase I delivering the first 100,000 MT.
